AndyMP3 Player is a music player that decodes the MP3 format and is made using the VS1011e decoder chip from VLSI Solutions and the PIC18LF2550 microcontroller from Microchip.
The idea of a project like this was born as a personal concern about the development of a useful consumer electronic device as well as a funny one, and the main goal was learning the different microcontroller applications.
For this purpose, the selection of an MP3 player as a project, looked like the right thing to do, meeting all the requirements.
The MP3 player presented here is based upon the original design of another MP3 player called “Sakura”. Some modifications were made to this design to adjust the project to my needs and the available hardware components, that simplified the building process of the first prototype.
